- Physical Education Gear-This should be brought to class EVERYDAY. Due to hygienic reasons, this should not be the clothing that you are wearing that day, but a CHANGE of clothes. You should bring a t-shirt, shorts or sweatpants, and a pair of sneakers. It is also a good idea to have deodorant or an antiperspirant that you can apply after class. If you forget your clothes, you will be required to participate anyway. You will not be allowed to participate if you do not have proper footwear-due to safety reasons.
Participation: The main focus of this course is to have students engage in active physical education. Each class will consist of a warm up, which will have a cardiovascular component, as well as a series of stretches and some strength training exercises. Students will be expected to participate at their level, and some improvement will be expected as the year goes on. This is not a competition between students, but an opportunity for students to challenge themselves and to improve their own individual fitness level and skill level. After the warm up, there will either be an introduction of new skills or a review of skills taught previously, followed by some type of game or activity. Students are asked to attempt the skills, and to participate in the activity.
